CongoReman, an Akaliko subsidiary, has serviced, repaired and maintained Mutanda’s heavy mobile fleet around the clock since December 2022: trucks, dozers, loaders, shovels and excavators.
Akaliko’s project record reports fleet availability rising from 65% before the engagement to an average of 85%; the measurement period is not stated. The initial team of 53 combined maintenance planning and reliability engineering with mechanical, electrical and structural trades.

CongoReman’s scope extends from fleet maintenance into major rebuilds. Daily reports from July 2024 record superstructure, engine-module, counterweight and boom-cylinder installation on two CAT 6030 shovels, with hydraulic connections and bolts tightened to OEM specifications.
Bucket work covers structural welding, attachment-point repairs and ground-engaging tool replacement; crane repair is part of the same local capability.

Case 03
Recurring failures led Akaliko to modify the stick and bucket cylinders’ rod-eye connection, and to give the clam cylinder a forged rod with its threaded connection moved to the cylinder side.
At the September 2026 update, the modified stick and bucket cylinders supplied in 2025 had reached 10,000 operating hours against a reported OEM range of 3,000 to 4,000 hours to failure, and the clam cylinders 3,000 hours against 1,000 to 2,000. All remain in service, so their completed lives are not yet known.

Case 04
What began as rod and barrel repairs grew into complete-cylinder repair, new supply, including six new R9400 cylinders, and a cylinder exchange program for CAT 777, 785 and 793 trucks.
Akaliko’s support covers 100% of the Thiess and Energy Resources fleet at Ukhaa Khudag. The exchange program keeps a pool of new or remanufactured cylinders ready while removed units return for assessment: 135 cylinders in 2025 and 223 in 2026, with 247 exchanges recorded during 2025.

Case 05
Since August 2025 Akaliko has supplied undercarriage for Liebherr R9250 and Hitachi EX3600 excavators, CAT D10T dozers and an RH170B shovel, with periodic site inspections measuring link pitch and other wear indicators.
Every item supplied was installed and remained in operation by September 2026. The inspections inform remaining-life estimates and bushing-turn planning, and operating hours are being recorded alongside the wear measurements.

Case 06
Akaliko Asset Solution Mongolia completed a CAT 785 dump-body repair and rebuild assignment that began in October 2025, addressing fatigue cracking and structural wear in sequence with the mine’s priorities.
The method specified non-destructive testing, crack mapping and thickness measurement before repair; qualified welding procedures with preheat and interpass control for winter work; shift handovers with inspection hold points; and final testing and sign-off.

Case 07
Akaliko supplies radiators, oil coolers, aftercoolers and heat exchangers for Oyu Tolgoi’s open-pit fleet, underground equipment and concentrator, from Komatsu 930E trucks to SAG-mill cooling components.
The 2018 to 2026 delivery history holds 223 records marked delivered: 167 open pit, 20 underground and 36 concentrator, counting repeat deliveries for the same equipment. Akaliko has also supplied two slew bearings for RH170 and CAT 6040 excavators.

Akaliko supplied a Sleipner E400 and organised a two-day engagement: site induction, delivery confirmation, pre-commissioning inspection and an equipment walkthrough on day one, then practical maintenance training on day two.
The training covered inspection points, service intervals, preventive maintenance, pre-start checks, first steps in troubleshooting, maintenance logging and escalation. The record does not report transport-time or undercarriage-life improvements.
