Leading the Way in Mining Components

Swap worn components for prepared ones, or hold agreed stock at your site

Exchange and consignment for the components your fleet runs on: hydraulic cylinders, wheel motors, undercarriage and more. Both are agreed with you, with the price, return and billing terms set in your contract.

How exchange and consignment work

Exchange program (PEX)

A prepared component out, the worn one back

A new or remanufactured unit replaces the worn one, which comes back for inspection. Your contract sets whether you receive a credit or it returns to the pool. Select a step.

Step 01

A prepared component is shipped to you

A new Akaliko component, or a remanufactured one from an exchange pool planned around your fleet’s forecast.

Step 01 · Exchange program (PEX)

A prepared component is shipped to you

A new Akaliko component, or a remanufactured one from an exchange pool planned around your fleet’s forecast.

Order ahead of the change-out, so the prepared component is on site before you need it.

Many makes and models can be exchanged, including damaged units. Your contract lists the components it covers.

Step 02

Fit it and send the worn one back

Fit the prepared component at your next maintenance window and return the one you removed.

Fit it and send the worn one back

Fit the prepared component at your next maintenance window and return the one you removed.

Once the prepared component is fitted, we send packaging and shipping instructions for the one you removed. It does not need repairing first.

Step 03

We inspect the returned component

We check that it matches the agreed model or specification, and that any damage is within rebuild limits.

Step 03 · Exchange program (PEX)

We inspect the returned component

We check that it matches the agreed model or specification, and that any damage is within rebuild limits.

If it meets the agreed condition, it is accepted under your exchange terms. If a major part cannot be repaired (for a cylinder, the rod or the barrel), the surcharge in your contract applies; if the unit cannot be rebuilt (for a cylinder, neither can), the core charge applies. Either way you receive an inspection report with photos.

Step 04

Credit or pool, as your contract sets

A credit based on the returned component’s condition, or repair and return to the exchange pool for the next exchange.

Step 04 · Exchange program (PEX)

Credit or pool, as your contract sets

A credit based on the returned component’s condition, or repair and return to the exchange pool for the next exchange.

Under a trade-in arrangement, a credit based on the returned component’s condition is set against the new Akaliko component.

Under a pool arrangement, as at Ukhaa Khudag further down this page, the returned unit is repaired or remanufactured and goes back into the pool for a later exchange.

Exchange terms set in each contract

Standard price
Where a contract uses a flat rate, the standard exchange price applies when the returned component can be repaired.
Surcharge
If a major part cannot be repaired (for a cylinder, its rod or barrel), the contract’s surcharge is added. In total you never pay more than the price of a full replacement.
Core charge
If the unit cannot be rebuilt (for a cylinder, when both the rod and the barrel are beyond repair), the core charge applies, with an inspection report and photos.
Warranty
Our published warranty policy covers new hydraulic cylinders. Other components and remanufactured units have separate terms, available on request.

Consignment program

Stock at your site, billed as you use it

Agreed components are held at your site and billed when a unit leaves storage and is fitted. Until then they stay on Akaliko’s books; any minimum fee is set in your agreement.

Consignment program

What a consignment agreement covers

Planning
A stock forecast and a replacement plan, matched to your maintenance schedule.
Billing
A unit is invoiced when it is taken from storage and installed. Holding fees are usually none for the length of the contract; some agreements set a minimum fee, deducted from the purchase price when the stock is used.
Shipments
Replenishment is shipped together from Akaliko’s regional stock, where the agreement provides for it.
Ready to fit
Stock waits on your floor, ready to fit, to the quality standard in your agreement. Warranty terms for consignment stock are set there too.

An exchange pool for haul-truck cylinders

For Thiess and Energy Resources, rod and barrel repairs grew into new supply and an exchange programme for CAT 777, 785 and 793 truck cylinders.

247

exchanges recorded in 2025, from a pool of 135 cylinders (223 in 2026).

A pool is inventory; an exchange is one transaction. Akaliko case record, September 2026.

Start with a conversation

  • Want exchange or consignment stock for your fleet?

Tell us your machines, the components that fail most and your maintenance schedule. We propose a programme and set the terms in a contract.

  • Hold stock or exchange parts near your customers?

Distributors and workshops can hold agreed stock or run exchanges for mining customers in their region. Every partnership starts with a discussion.

Or email info@akaliko.global.

Akaliko THS, Akaliko Mongolia, Akaliko PNG, Akaliko Zambia, Akaliko Burkina Faso and Akaliko Australia list both programmes on their pages, as does PT United Hydraulic Technology in Indonesia. Each is offered on request, with terms agreed with each customer.
