Mats Strandberg

Career and experience

Mats Strandberg leads Equipment and Technology Commercial Development within Akaliko’s commercial structure. He works with regional teams and product partners to develop customer relationships and bring selected equipment and technology opportunities to market. His priorities include hydraulic cylinders, undercarriage and other mining components, alongside the development of underground equipment and spare-parts opportunities.

His career spans international sales, aftermarket services and mining equipment leadership. At Normet, he held roles including Director of Services for Northern Eurasia, General Manager of Services for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Commercial Director of Global Services. He subsequently served as General Manager and Key Account Director / Site Manager for the Oyu Tolgoi project with Normet Mongolia.

Earlier, Mats held aftermarket and service leadership positions with Sandvik Mining and Construction, covering Russia and neighbouring markets as well as regional service support across Europe. At Atlas Copco, he led the parts and service business for mining and rock excavation. His more recent experience includes aftermarket leadership with Nord Minerals and overseas business development with Zhejiang Zhigao Machinery.

Mats began his career in engineering and later moved into export sales and international business development. His experience across equipment suppliers, service organisations and mining customers supports Akaliko’s efforts to connect products with practical customer needs and long-term lifecycle support.
