Marco Villarreal serves as Akaliko’s Chief Operating Officer, bringing experience in manufacturing operations, lean management and supply-chain coordination. He joined Akaliko in January 2026 as Partner for Mexico and South America, supporting customers in mining, construction and the on-highway truck sector.
Before joining Akaliko, Marco spent more than ten years with Caterpillar in Mexico. As Director General from 2016 to 2021, he was responsible for advanced components operations. Earlier, he led supply chain and transportation operations. He also served as General Manager at Hisun Motors and founded Trusted Partner Solutions, a trading and consulting business focused on process improvement and equipment solutions.
His earlier career includes global supply-chain leadership and production management at General Motors, including responsibility for supply chains serving engine and transmission plants at Ramos Arizpe. At NUMMI, he coordinated production-control material flows. This background connects factory operations with logistics, materials planning and practical improvements in delivery.
Marco holds an engineering qualification in Industrial Systems and Productivity from Universidad Autónoma del Noreste. His further education includes senior management programmes at IPADE and Tecnológico de Monterrey, executive education in supply-chain management at MIT, and a design-for-manufacturing and assembly course at Stanford.
