1.Our values

  1. 1.1Six values describe how we work: together we thrive; integrity always; made for customers; embrace change, drive growth; lead with humility; and sustainable success.
  2. 1.2The expectations below turn these values into everyday behaviour.

2.Who this applies to

  1. 2.1These expectations apply to everyone who works for Akaliko, in every company and region.
  2. 2.2We expect the partners and suppliers who act with us, or on our behalf, to meet the same standards.

3.What we expect

  1. 3.1Safety first. Stop any work you believe is unsafe, and report incidents and near misses.
  2. 3.2Honesty. Keep accurate records, and never mislead customers, partners or colleagues.
  3. 3.3No bribery or corruption. Never offer, give or accept anything to win or keep business improperly.
  4. 3.4Gifts and hospitality. Give or accept them only when modest and occasional, and never while a decision is pending.
  5. 3.5Conflicts of interest. Declare any personal interest that could affect your judgement.
  6. 3.6Respect. Treat everyone fairly. Discrimination, bullying and harassment are not tolerated.
  7. 3.7Information. Protect confidential information and personal data.
  8. 3.8Fair competition. Compete on merit and follow competition law.
  9. 3.9Partners and suppliers. Choose them fairly, and expect the same standards from them.
  10. 3.10Environment. Reduce waste and the impact of our work.
  11. 3.11When in doubt, ask whether you would be comfortable if the decision were explained to a customer, a colleague and your family.

  1. 4.1Anyone who sees something that conflicts with these expectations should raise it.
  2. 4.2Concerns are handled in confidence, and nobody is penalised for raising one in good faith.

5.Breaches

  1. 5.1Every concern is reviewed fairly and in confidence.
  2. 5.2Where needed, the facts are established by someone independent of the matter.
  3. 5.3Where a breach is found, we put it right and take proportionate action, which may include ending a role or a business relationship.

6.Introduction and review

  1. 6.1Every leader takes their team through these expectations, and new joiners receive them when they start.
  2. 6.2The Executive Committee reviews this document every year, together with the concerns raised, to see where it needs to be clearer.
