Energy Resources LLC operates Ukhaa Khudag mine in Mongolia, one of the region's significant coking coal operations. The site runs a mixed fleet of large hydraulic excavators, shovels, and dozers in continuous service — the kind of environment where undercarriage is never a peripheral purchase.
The challenge
Undercarriage is a high-value, high-impact wear category. Component quality, replacement timing, and in-service reliability feed directly into machine availability, maintenance planning, and total cost of ownership.
Energy Resources needed a more cost-effective route to undercarriage supply without giving up the reliability its fleet depends on. In aftermarket mining supply, that is a deceptively difficult brief. Low price without dependability introduces operational risk. We had to offer both.
Akaliko's scope of supply
Since August 2025, Akaliko has supplied Energy Resources LLC with undercarriage solutions across multiple machine platforms at Ukhaa Khudag:
Complete undercarriage solution — Liebherr R9250

Complete undercarriage solution — Hitachi EX3600
Track group— D10T track group

Complete assembly of track rollers — RH170D shovel

Rather than a single isolated component order, Akaliko has supported Energy Resources across several different machine classes, from large hydraulic excavators and mining shovels through to dozer undercarriage.
Periodic wear monitoring
On a periodic basis, the Akaliko team visits the site to monitor the performance and wear status of the components in service. Those visits include:
On-site inspection of the supplied undercarriage assemblies in working condition
Wear measurement including link pitch, bushing turn, and related wear indicators used to project remaining component life

For the customer, this turns into something closer to a lifecycle relationship. Wear data supports better maintenance planning, earlier visibility on replacement timing, and confidence that the solutions Akaliko supplied continue to perform against expectation.
For Akaliko, it closes the feedback loop between what was supplied and how it is actually performing in one of the most demanding aftermarket environments.
Outcome
All supplied items have been installed and remain in operation.
Why this engagement matters
This case reinforces three points about how Akaliko works with mining customers.
Undercarriage specialization.
The scope supplied across Liebherr, Hitachi, Caterpillar, and XCMG platforms reflects depth in one of the most operationally demanding wear categories in mining
Repeat trust.
Multiple purchases across several machine platforms since August 2025 indicate that Energy Resources have treated Akaliko as an ongoing supply partner rather than a spot-buy alternative.
Proven in the field.
Every item supplied is still in service. For aftermarket undercarriage, that is the strongest reference point a supplier can offer.
